How SquidGee Dry Works!
SquidGee Dry System is a hollow baseboard channel that quietly collects seeping water. SquidGee Dry System solves the problem of a wet basement by doing what paints, plugs and sealers can't do - it collects the water and quietly drains it away to your sump pump. Fixing your wet basement is as easy as following our do-it-yourself instructions!
Most wet basement problems are caused by water collecting around the foundation, creating hydrostatic pressure. The pressure forces water through the joint where the basement walls and floor meet, and even through cracks and pores in the concrete walls. Water will begin to seep in through the joint where the floor and walls meet. The SquidGee Dry System is ideal for this water problem!
If you have a block wall foundation, you will need to drill weep holes into each block to relieve those hollow cells of hydrostatic pressure. If your basement walls are poured, there are no hollow cavities in your basement walls, therefore, you do not drill weep holes. The SquidGee Dry System can be installed with any basement walls, as it is not glued to the walls.
How Does the Water Flow?
Water is a self-leveling fluid. As water tries to build up behind the SquidGee Dry System it will seek the lowest point in the basement, which is your sump pump or floor drain. The water level will quickly lower as the SquidGee Dry System directs the water into the sump pump or floor drain. Any water left standing in the system after a storm will simply flow back out into the ground the same way it came into the basement.
How-To Install SquidGee Dry?
The SealOnce Adhesive is used to bond the SquidGee Dry System water-tight to the basement floor. Wet or dry basement floor, SealOnce Adhesive creates a waterproof seal bonding the vinyl main section to concrete! The SealOnce Adhesive is moisture activated and cures in wet conditions, but water is not necessary for the SealOnce to cure water-tight. SealOnce Adhesive is exclusive to Waterproof.com! Our formula is designed to make the installation of the SquidGee Dry System a breeze!
Simply apply a heavy bead of SealOnce Adhesive to the bottom of the SquidGee Dry Main Section. Position the main section next to the wall and press gently down on the floor. Finish by caulking the joint where the main section meets the floor - this is the final step to create a leak-free SquidGee Dry System.
